wow, it has been over a week since the last post- shame shame shame. and if it weren't for my mother's request i might have left it a little while longer. i think my delay in posting is because i spend all my time working and then when i actually have time to sit down and reflect on my experiences i am either rowing, biking, instituting or soccering. so i will try to use a few of my lunch breaks for blogging.
so things are coming together as i have completed a third of my fieldwork experience. i am settling in really well and becoming more and more comfortable with the scene. i have noticed a few things that i prefer for future OT jobs: i like one on one and a fast paced environment. i think this environment can be fast paced, however, sometimes the interaction with clients can seem calm and sedated for my liking. but i have enjoyed my experience so far a lot! i love getting to work and seeing if we have new patients and then going to the charts and checking up on the patient. i LOVE getting to know the patients individually and developing rapport. i love becoming more comfortable with my ability to assess patients.
yesterday a patient gave me and the other OTs a painted gold box that she made during the OT craft group. this was a very thoughtful gift. i will treasure it.
well tha tis it for now. nothing too major to report. i will try to be better at blogging.
